Elisa Overall
Elisa Overall, who also goes by “Emo,” has dedicated her career to issues of equity, social justice, and inclusion. She is Executive Director to the Colorado Access to Justice Commission, a statewide commission to address inequities in Colorado's civil justice system. Previously, Elisa worked as court-appointed counsel for indigent defendants. She spent nearly a decade doing nonprofit work in Southwest Colorado supporting the region’s immigrant communities. Elisa also directed a Federal Carol M. White PEP Grant, implemented through San Miguel County school districts, to promote healthy active lifestyles and reduce health disparities among K-12 students.
Elisa is Mexican American and grew up in Tucson, Arizona, also spending some of her young years living in Sonora, Mexico. She graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. and earned her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She is also a Latino Leadership Institute Fellow. She and her husband live in Lakewood, Colorado, and spend much of their time chasing after their energetic son.
