Mu Yo

Mu Yo is a Community organizer for the Karen, Karenni, and Burmese coalitions at RISE. Born in a small village in Burma (Myanmar) and an early childhood in a refugee camp, she had limited educational opportunities. With the help of the United Nations, Mu Yo and her family resettled in Colorado where she completed her high school and university education. Mu Yo earned her associate’s degree from Community College of Denver and received her Bachelor of Science in Social Work degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver.  In her free time, Mu Yo enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, playing volleyball, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
